To Square a number, you multiply it by itself twice….
2 squared = 2 x 2 = 4
A number squared is written using the number as the base and a 2 for the exponent.
The inverse of squaring a number is taking the square root of a number. We use this
symbol for square roots √
Cubes
To Cube a number, you multiply it by itself twice….
3 cubed= 3 x 3 x 3 = 27
A number cubed is written using the number as the base and a 3 for the exponent.
= 27
The inverse of cubing a number is taking the square root of a number.
