Training Agenda
Day One:
What is Positive Nurturing and how is it different from Negative Nurturing?

The impact of negative nurturing practices on brain development and functioning.

The practices of re-parenting and re-teaching negative attitudes, knowledge, emotions
and behaviors into positive nurturing ones.

The role of positive nurturing in healthy self-development; healthy family development
and healthy community development.

How early and continuous child maltreatment leads to the foundation for crime,
violence, drug use and unhealthy personal identities.
Day Two:
Saying no to Negative-Nurturing practices and yes to Positive-Nurturing
practices.

Understanding the relationship between negative parenting and family practices and the
foundation of violent and destructive behavior patterns which manifest in community
crime, school bullying and destructive drug use.

The positive power in developing empathic attitudes and caring patterns of behavior.
Day Three:
The roles of businesses, agencies, schools and faith communities in developing
and promoting positive nurturing as a way of life.

The next step in developing a community plan in promoting positive nurturing as a way
of life.
The Nurturing Parenting Programs meet and exceed the Six Protective Factors identified by the
U.S. Government for the prevention and treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect.
