Safe Driving bill Extended
to May 15th for More Study
Legislators who heard testimony on March 5th have decided to
keep alive the effort in Massachusetts to provide a means for anyone to earn a driver’s license, regardless of immigration status.
“The extension of the Safe Driving Bill is good news for everyone
concerned about improving road safety, [said Safe Driving Bill cosponsor Senator Pat Jehlen. “Members of the Joint Committee on
Transportation had dozens of bills to consider… so by postponing
a decision on this particular measure, they demonstrated the seriousness with which they’re taking this commonsense change to
state licensing.”
