YEAR IN REVIEW KMA Bring Hundreds of People to Village CALENDAR The KMA was busy this summer with Discover Delaware, the Summer Concert Series and Kenmore Days. It was wonderful to see hundreds of people attend one or more of these events. The summer of 2013 opened with The Annual Discover Delaware Event (June) which hosted about 125 vendors and not for profits from all over WNY. The streets were lined with balloons and merchants that wanted to share in the excitement of what the Village had to offer. Our Delaware businesses were very happy with the activity especially since they had many first time customers! The KMA was happy to partner with Channel 7 who provided air time on AM Buffalo, the weather outside and several commercial spots. Businesses were pleased with the day and we want to thank them for their support! Thank you to the Discover Delaware Committee spearheaded by Marcia Brogan (Insurance Agent, Niagara National Insurance). The committee consisted of these fine businesses: Nickel City Dance, The Belly Dance Academy, Diversified Hearing, Evangeline Barbour Graphic Designer, Legal Shield , Blessings by Nature, Key Bank and Colvin Cleaners. The summer concert now became a series with 2 concerts that were held this summer thanks to our generous sponsors. Local residents listened and danced the night away on the Village Green to the sounds of Beatle Magic, Janice Mitchell, Soul Providers and Mari McNeil. The spinoff from the concerts was the added business that the merchants received. Many merchants offered evening specials that encouraged people to stop in and patronize their business. The only way we can continue the concert series is with added sponsorship and people to work on the committee. If you would like to sponsor or help on a committee please email us at [email protected]. Kenmore Days was another success! Many hours go into this event which brings people into the Village and further highlights what it is like to live and work in the Village. Thank you to the many sponsors and especially Paddock Chevrolet for sponsoring the fabulous fireworks display! We have changed and improved the website, added new meetings and created ways to reach out to the members as well as the general public. The KMA will be having a membership drive using vacant storefronts to encourage membership. Please support the KMA by renewing your membership, encourage other members to join and participate in the events. The KMA will only be as good as we make it! Grow Your Business With KMA The KMA is trying to bring more activity into the village for its merchants. The question we have is why aren’t all the local merchants joining in? If your business neighbor is not participating – talk to them and find out why. We need to support each other by joining forces and supporting these local endeavors. By not participating you are not only hurting yourself you are hurting your neighbor. –please talk to each other and encourage participation.
