SPSM 148: INTRODUCTION TO FORENSIC LABORATORY SCIENCES
encourages interest in the career of a Crime Scene Investigator/Forensic Lab Technician (FLT). FLTs are
professionals involved in technical work inside a forensic/crime laboratory. A technician employed in this field would
prepare and analyze samples from crime scenes to support the forensic research arm of a criminal investigation.
These careers can involve local, state, or federal law enforcement agencies. FLTs also routinely engage
in quality control and quality assurance checks on laboratory equipment and instruments.
