Staff Announcements For the Week of This week at HPJH:

Staff Announcements
For the Week of
November 7-11, 2016
This week at HPJH:
*** Bring a grocery bag or backpack from home for locker clean out on Friday***
Election Day: We will have lots of people in our building on Tuesday. In preparation for
Election Day, they will be setting up the small gym. This means that we will not have our
indoor activities in the small gym. Please bring something to keep you occupied for these 2
days as we cannot have everyone in the large gym. A deck of cards is great for playing
“Go Fish” and who doesn’t love “UNO”? :)))
Students: Unless there has been physical contact (kicking, pushing, slapping, punching etc)
or a threat of any kind (towards a student, staff member or school facility) please see
your counselor before filling out a pass to see Mrs. Scholz or Mr. Gold.
6th graders with the last names A-K and all 7th graders see Mrs. Kinyon

You will receive an email from Mrs. Scholz the week before you are scheduled to say the Pledge of
Allegiance and your quote for the whole school. We usually have many students that submit quotes,
so you may not be scheduled for a month or longer and students who submit more than one quote

We all live under the same sky,
but we don’t all have the same horizon.
Please take pictures of any great activities that are happening in your classroom
and share so we let everyone know what a great job we are doing here at HPJH!!!
Julie and Carla are our yearbook coordinators and would love to have photos to
add to the yearbook.
NO CELL PHONE USAGE ANYWHERE IN HPJH! A letter was
sent home on the first day of school which outlines the Hazel Park

Dropping off and Picking up Students:
Parents please do NOT drop students off or pick up students in the
front or back parking lots where the cars are parked. Please use the
drop off lane in the front of the school. This allows students to be dropped off on
the sidewalk and reduces the chances of students getting hit by walking through
the lot or by passing cars. The Hazel Park Police Department have been issuing
tickets to any drivers that stop, stand or park along the side streets and to
people that stand or park in the drop off lane in front of the school.
←---Drop off and pick up on this side! Enter from the
south side and exit at the north by following the curve.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help with supervision before and after school in the
pick up and drop off zone and in the parking lot. If you are interested, please contact Mr.
Gold at 248 658-2300.
Media Center/Library: Students may utilize our media center to
check out books before school beginning at 7:30 a.m. or after school
until 3:30 p.m. We are very excited to welcome back Mrs. Darlene
Pellow to our media center this year.
Please send in BOX TOPS! It is
an easy way to earn money for our
school! Please bring them in. There will
be drop boxes located throughout the
school and in the office.

Volunteers NEEDED and APPRECIATED! If you have anytime to
help out at HPJH please fill out the Volunteer Form. There are
copies in our office.
FYI: Safety is a priority at HPJH so we do not and will
not release a student to anyone during the school day
without proper identification even if the staff is familiar
with the parent or guardian that is checking a student
out. There is a clipboard on the front counter of the
office for signing out students. Please note that students
will only be released to people listed on the emergency
card. We want to make sure ALL our our students are
safe!
